In February, 2012, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) launched a Technical Committee, TC268, for the global standardization in the area of “Sustainable Development of Communities”. [Ref. News in September, 2014, and January, 2015]

A plenary meeting of TC268 and a series of meetings of the subcommittee and working groups took place between June 8 and 12 in Grasmere, England, UK and Michi took part in the meetings as an official liaison officer of APEC.

Based on the agreement at a meeting of APEC’s Energy Working Group in November, 2014, to liaise with ISO as well as appointing Michi as an official Liaison Officer, APEC Secretariat submitted application for liaison to ISO’s Central Secretariat, which has been approved, and Michi now represents APEC in ISO TC268 meetings.
