In February, 2012, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) launched a Technical Committee, TC268, for the global standardization in the area of “Sustainable Development of Communities”. (Ref. News No.9)

A series of meetings of the subcommittee and working groups took place between January 19 and 23 in Bridgetown, Barbados, and Michi took part in the meetings as Japan’s industrial expert.

Michi also represented Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) as an observer to ISO meetings, as Michi Creative City Designers Inc. has been commissioned to develop APEC Low-Carbon Town Indicators, which should be correlated with ISO city indicators.
