The Energy Working Group (EWG) of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) initiated its Low-Carbon Model Town Taskforce in 2010.
As a part of this activity, Taskforce Japan has been working on the development of Low-Carbon Town Indicator System to evaluate low carbon towns in the APEC region, and preliminary study and draft proposal of the indicator systems have been made.
An open tender on the next phase of detailing the indicators was made by Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre (APERC), the secretariat of Taskforce Japan, and MICHI Creative City Designers Inc. jointly participated the bid together with NIKKEN SEKKEI Research Institute. The team won the bid, and the contract between the team and APERC was signed on December 22nd, 2014.
This is the third winning of the APEC-related tenders for the company since its establishment a year ago
