In February, 2012, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) launched a Technical Committee, TC268, for the global standardization in the area of “Sustainable Development of Communities”. The TC includes a subcommittee and working groups for management system, proposed by France, city indicators, proposed by Canada, and metrics for smart urban infrastructure proposed by Japan.

A series of meetings of the subcommittee and working groups took place between September 15 and 20 earlier this year in Nantes, France, and Michi took part in the meetings as Japan’s industrial expert.
